Linda reviewed our banquet stats which was very successful.&nbsp; My previous profit estimate was in error, we actually made a little over $15K.<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div>\n<p><\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignnone wp-image-739 size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/www.saquailforever.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/IMG_6671-e1518833210661-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-739\" srcset=\"https:\/\/saquailforever.com\/dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/IMG_6671-e1518833210661-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/saquailforever.com\/dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/IMG_6671-e1518833210661-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/saquailforever.com\/dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/IMG_6671-e1518833210661-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https:\/\/saquailforever.com\/dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/IMG_6671-e1518833210661-1536x2048.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/saquailforever.com\/dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/IMG_6671-e1518833210661-scaled.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">A &#8220;trinchera&#8221; in Action during the recent rain in Patagonia<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div><strong>-David Seibert from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.borderlandsrestoration.org\">Borderland Restorations<\/a><\/strong> gave an overview of their mission and strengths.&nbsp; His organization has conducted ecological restoration in Southern AZ for several years.&nbsp; He showed slides with several examples of their work.&nbsp; He uses youth groups, prisoners and volunteers to keep costs low.&nbsp; No decisions were made but it is likely we will work with this group to complete some of our habitat work.<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div>-Tom Sullivan had planned to work <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_286680080\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Thursday<\/span><\/span> with representatives from Pima County and our local rancher to repair the damage at Ramsey Well (our previous water for wildlife site).&nbsp; Unfortunately the rain prevented the work.<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div>-Our youth\/novice hunt is scheduled <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_286680081\"><span class=\"aQJ\">24 Mar<\/span><\/span> at Maternity Wells about 7 miles north of Sonoita.&nbsp; If you have interest in volunteering or bringing a youth please contact Nick Besenick.&nbsp; There will be a dinner and camp out for volunteers the night prior.<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div>-Good news, Sadie the Chesapeake Bay Retriever has found a new home.<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div>-Our next meeting will be <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_286680082\"><span class=\"aQJ\">Thur 15 March<\/span><\/span> at Steak Out.&nbsp; There is no planned speaker, the meeting will focus on upcoming elections and future direction of the chapter.&nbsp; Elections will be handled per our by-laws with nominations, acceptance of nominations, second of nominations and then a ballot via email administered by the chapter secretary.&nbsp; As we do not have a volunteer to serve as the chapter secretary, I will likely pick up the role to support our upcoming elections. &nbsp; To keep the process transparent, I will remove myself as a candidate for any chapter office but complete my term as chapter president.&nbsp; Individual members may nominate themselves for office. &nbsp;Chapter officers will turnover <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_286680083\"><span class=\"aQJ\">1 Jul 18<\/span><\/span>.<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div>-Ron Walp brought forward a proposal to move meetings from the Steak Out due to the high noise level in the establishment.&nbsp; Nick Besenick and Jim Littlejohn agreed to assess other options and come back to the group next fall with a recommendation.<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div>Meeting adjourned at <span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_286680084\"><span class=\"aQJ\">8:45<\/span><\/span>.<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div>QF values your privacy, member emails are sent bcc.<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"yj6qo ajU\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Southern AZ Quail Forever 15 Feb 18 meeting minutes.
