$29,359 in bank, no outstanding issues.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>-Schedule; schedule for 17-18 hunt season provided and attached below.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>-Banquet; Banquet results provided.\u00a0 Banquet sold out with 177 paid attendees.\u00a0 Banquet made nearly $21,000 for the chapter.\u00a0 Lesson have been collected by the committee to improve future banquets.\u00a0 Will increase attendance cap to 200 next year.\u00a0 Member attendee (not including spouses\/guests) breakdown:\u00a0 out of state 41, Tucson region 43, Phoenix and northern AZ 14 and southern AZ 17.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>-Habitat; Tom provided a slide show of the completed water for wildlife project and discussed potential options for new projects.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>-Mearns Quail Study;\u00a0 Linda provided an update on recent work completed on the diet study.\u00a0 It is on track.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>-Hog and Adobe Canyons update;\u00a0 Ron Walp provided an update on the status of the potential closure of the roads leading into the canyons from Highway 82.\u00a0 The Crown C association has elected a new president who has provided the Forest Service a letter indicating they will work sign issues and work an agreement with AZGFD to ensure continued access.\u00a0 This all looks favorable but it is not done until it is done.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>-Youth hunt;\u00a0 Nick provided update on youth activity planned\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_771051594\"><span class=\"aQJ\">4 Mar<\/span><\/span>\u00a0at Maternity Wells site at Empire Ranch.\u00a0 Nick Besenick will be soliciting volunteers to help.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>-New chapter board member;\u00a0 Ron Walp was nominated and elected to a new Community Relations board position where he will continue to lead our highway cleanup effort and ensure our out of state members interests are considered.\u00a0 Congrats to Ron who has worked hard to support this chapter, the wildlife of AZ and pay back for many years of enjoying the outdoors. \u00a0We still have other board positions open, please let me know if you are willing to help.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>-Speakers;<\/div>\n<div>Kirby\u00a0Bristow\u00a0Research Biologist from\u00a0Arizona Game and Fish Department will present Quail Hunting Arizona. \u00a0His presentation will provide information on Gambels, Scaled and Mearns Quail including habitat where they are found, what they eat, breeding info and how to best hunt them.\u00a0 His presentation will be put on our website.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Wade Zarlingo our AZGFD partner discussed the new license requirements for those wishing to train their dogs using pen raised game birds.\u00a0 The new rules require a new license for every 10 day period and each location you plan to train.\u00a0 I will forward these rules and a form to use if you wish to challenge AZGFD on this policy.\u00a0 Wade lives in northern AZ and had a nearly 4 hour drive home after the meeting.\u00a0 We really appreciate Wade\u2019s support to the chapter.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Mearns Quail Barrel results;\u00a0 Brittany Oleson our local game warden reviewed the results of totally the inputs from the Mearns quail barrels.\u00a0 She will get formal results out to us but overall the barrels showed about 1 bird a day decrease compared to last year.\u00a0 We had several chapter members assist with the count which was done earlier this week.\u00a0 She also passed out quail wings to those wanting to use them for dog training.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>New actions:\u00a0 none.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Meeting adjourned at\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_771051595\"><span class=\"aQJ\">8:35<\/span><\/span>.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Future chapter events;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_771051596\"><span class=\"aQJ\">4 Mar 17<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Youth Hunt Sonoita contact Nick Besenick for information or to volunteer<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_771051597\"><span class=\"aQJ\">16 Mar 17<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_771051598\"><span class=\"aQJ\">6:30-9 PM<\/span><\/span>\u00a0Chapter Meeting Steak Out Sonoita Subject &#8211;
